1	1	No, as mentionned above a similar change had already been merged in. To make sure, we could check by using SDL with the framebuffer driver or directfb, or using Wayland (if that's even possible with SDL 1.x?)

3		I think there should not be a problem.
	3	I think there should not be a problem, provided fontconfig is configured properly it is possible to get it to enumerate bitmap fonts as well - unfortunately, this is not the default on usual Linux distros, however. But I'd rather let people fix this on the system side than working around the problem.
