Rules
Patience (also known as Solitaire) is a game of luck and skill. The rules are very simple, you start with seven tableau of cards and a pack of the remainder. The top card of each tableau is revealed and you must assemble piles of cards in descending order and alternating colour. e.g. red 3 on black 4. When no more cards can be moved, either 1 or 3 cards can be dealt from the pack however, only the top card is available for play. Kings can also be placed in any gaps which open up in the game area. Above the game area there are 4 placeholders ready for you to assemble the cards in ascending numerical order of the same suit beginning with the ace. The completion of these 4 piles is the aim of the game.
Cards can be dragged with the left button and the right button will move the clicked card to the completed piles if it is valid.
The options menu allows selection from 4 different card backs and the following options :
Freeze completed decks : Cards may not be removed from the 4 upper piles.
Autocomplete on successful completion : The game will autocomplete when it is easily finished.
Deal one card instead of three : The default deal from the pack is 3 cards, this changes it to 1.
Making CardSets
A Cardset is any image file supported by BeOS translators i.e BMP, JPG, GIF(With 3rd party addon), PNG etc etc. See BeMenu/Preferences/DataTranslators. The image must be 994 x 383 pixels and must contain the four suits in the pack and four card backs. See cards.bmp for card orders, they must be kept the same in your file. Each card must be 71 x 96 pixels in size. To load the file use the Load Cardset menu from the file menu.

Registration
When you first install BePatience 3, the game is unregistered. The game will only deal out 4 unique sets of cards, so you may see the same sets of cards being dealt out time and again. This is not a bug! To unlock BePatience and make it fully functional, you must visit

You will be asked some general questions, your name, country of origin and region/city and you will be given an opportunity to comment on BePatience. You will then be given a registration code, this code must be entered into the Register box which can be found in the file menu. Please take the time to register BePatience, it is completely free. The information gained is used purely for demographics and market research.
