Tired of your old fortunes? Try some new ones...

I had alot of fun with BeFortunate and used to stay for hours in front of my monitor just to read more one-liners. But, eventually I saw them all and started looking for new ones on the net. All the files are either under GPL, freeware or made by me (in the case of the "BeOS Fortune File").

How to install them? Copy them to /boot/beos/etc/fortunes or drop them in the provided symlink. Now, in order for "fortune" to be able to display them, you must rename the desired file to "default" [beware that there is already a "default" file in the directory - move or archive it before this].

You can copy/paste the text from all the files in one big file if you desire, the sole condition being that you won't redristibute the created file. Each file must remain intact before redistributing it - the authors would apreciate it.

Once again: I did NOT write but one file in this package (see above). The rest is Internet resource... and ... there would be another thing: the file called "NetPositive haikus" contains all NetPositive haiku messages from both NetPositive version 2.2 (BeOS R5) and NetPositive version 2.1.1 (BeOS 4.5 Demo CD). I compiled this file so you may use it with "fortune" and read all the cute haiku's NetPositive displays when a site is not found, without having to type an inexistent URL over and over again just to see them (No, I used grep to get them out : ) ). I'm not sure about the copyright of the haiku's but I think noone should mind. Just in case someone would mind, email me and I won't include this in the next release.

As for the "BeOS Fortune File", it's my attempt to bring a smile to you all. If you read this and have some cool ideas of your own regarding BeOS-related fortune messages, please email them to me. I would be more than glad to read them and include them in the next release of this *.zip file. Now, go and have fun!
