User Manual
Using NewsReader

Above is a screenshot of NewsReader. It contains all the main elements of NewsReader, which is all that is required to access Usenet.
- Menus
The menus are clearly laid out, with easy to use functions, along the top of the window
- Toolbar
The toolbar contains several useful tools for accessing the newsgroups:
- Newsgroup selector - press this button to see the list of newsgroups, and select them
- New post - this button will create a new post to the current newsgroup
- Reply - this button will create a new post in reply to the currently selected post in the newsgroup
- Reply by email - this will create a new reply, which will be sent by email (this can be changed)
- Attachments - this will display a menu with all the attachments in this article
- ROT13 - this will ROT13 the article, so you can view any encoded messages
- Edit - for local messages, this will re-load them in the Post Composer
- Delete - for local messages, this will delete them
- Newsgroup status - this displays the current number of messages stored for this newsgroup, and how many are unread
- Thread viewer
This is the main newsgroup view for NewsReader, it displays the messages for the currently selected newsgroup. How it shows this information can be selected in the View menu, and is also available by right-clicking on the Thread Viewer itself. Selecting an article here will cause it to appear in the Article viewer (If the post is not locally stored, it will be downloaded unless you hold down Control when selecting).
- Article Viewer
This is the main article viewer. It consists of two parts, one of which contains a list of the headers associated with this article, and the other contains the other article itself. If the article also has some image attachments, these will appear underneath the article in this section.
