Introduced in 1986, the TO9+ is an upgrade of the TO9. It uses the new single gate array design from the TO8, allowing the TO9+ to still be the high end machine (the TO8 is better than the older TO9).

The built-in software (word processor and database) is moved from ROM to floppies to allow easier updates. However, the extra RAM allows loading them (and other software designed to run from cartridge) as resident applications, in a write-locked RAM page mapped in the cartridge space.
